The Burr is the app that listens to your espresso grinder and counts down to your target dose by weight. No new hardware. No subscription. Just one calibration and you're set.

Why it exists

Grind-by-weight grinders cost $400 to $2,000. They produce repeatable doses by spinning until a calibrated weight is reached. The Burr does the same thing with the device already in your pocket: it learns how many grams per second your grinder produces, then times your shot in real time.

How accurate is it?

After calibration, most users land within ±0.3g of their target dose - well within the tolerance most home baristas care about. Accuracy depends on consistent grinder behavior shot-to-shot. The "Tune the rate" step lets you sharpen the model whenever you have a scale handy.

What it doesn't do

The Burr is not a scale. It does not replace one for new-bean dial-in or competition shots. It is the instrument you reach for in daily use when you want a repeatable dose without weighing every shot.
