What this is

The Burr is a free progressive web application that estimates espresso grind weight by listening to your grinder. By using The Burr, you agree to these terms.

License to use

You may use The Burr personally and commercially at no cost. You may install it on as many devices as you like. We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable license for this use.

No warranty

The Burr is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The dose estimates are calibrated from your own test grinds and may drift over time, with grinder wear, or between bean types. Always verify on a scale when precision matters - especially competition shots, dialing-in new beans, or anything food-safety-adjacent.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, particular accuracy levels, or that the app will be free of bugs.

Acceptable use

Don't try to reverse-engineer, scrape, repackage, or resell the app. Don't use it in a way that interferes with other users (insofar as that's even possible for a local-first app). Don't claim it as your own work.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Burr's authors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app - including but not limited to lost time, wasted beans, ruined shots, or damaged equipment.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app's primary maintainer resides. Disputes will be resolved in that jurisdiction's courts.
